Tribeca Chamber Players share the joy of chamber music with listeners of all ages in relaxed, informal settings. We act on our belief that chamber music – a vital part of our cultural heritage with a growing repertoire – is best encountered via accessible and intimate live performance experiences.
What We Do
Much of the best music-making in the world takes place in New York City, yet chamber music is rarely heard in the neighborhoods of Lower Manhattan. Tribeca Chamber Players fills this void by presenting freely-accessible, informal chamber-music reading sessions with discussions of the music by performers. Listeners sit in on negotiations of musical and expressive ideas as the musicians arrive at a shared understanding of how the music is to be played, prior to performing a work in its entirety.
Whom We Serve
Tribeca Chamber Players share the joy of chamber music with families, with seniors and the very young, with aficionados and those who are new to the experience, and with each other. We serve the music, whether ancient or new, filling the moment with works brought to life, making manifest the intellect and humanity of composers for the benefit of all who hear.
